Shantell Ortiz earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. Growing up she witnessed firsthand the impact of addiction within her Spanish community. These early experiences deeply influenced her passion for advocacy and reinforced her dedication to walking alongside patients impacted by substance use, ensuring they are seen, heard, and supported throughout their recovery journey.

Shantell joined West Midtown Medical Group as a counselor in 2023, quickly rising to the position of Head Counselor, and then promoted to Interim Assistant Clinical Director.  In her current role, Shantell is responsible for identifying qualified counseling professionals to join the WMMG team, and ensuring that counseling staff receive the training and professional development needed to provide high-quality, compassionate care.

In her free time, Shantell enjoys building LEGO sets and unwinding with her favorite horror movies.
